INT 240 — Home Energy Production

3 credits · 3 hours

This course covers home energy production and the electronics necessary to implement it. Energy switching devices, such as diodes and choppers, will be taught with hands-on activities to reinforce the theory. Power transformers and autotransformers will be covered, including mathematical ratios, schematic drawings, winding connections, and more. Inverters and converters will be discussed and experimented with for grid-tied and smart grid setups.
