Public relations is a fast-paced and diverse field with dozens of specializations and career opportunities. The class will establish the differences and similarities between public relations and advertising as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each. Students will develop an understanding of publics, writing press releases, establishing and maintaining communication with the public and crisis management. At completion of the course, students will be fully prepared to enter advanced classes in public relations or apply the knowledge to their own lives and careers. Course
