CH 220 - Organic Chemistry I CH 220 - Organic Chemistry I This course is a detailed introduction to organic chemistry designed as a second year offering to science majors and to students in pre-medical, pre-dental, physical therapy, chiropractic, veterinary science, mortuary science, and other related disciplines. Topics include: electronic structure and bonding; properties of organic molecules; nomenclature and conformations of alkanes and cycloalkanes; stereochemistry-enantiomers and diasteriomers; holoalkanes-nucleophilic substitution and elimination reactions and mechanisms; and alkene and alkynes-structure, synthesis, reactions and mechanisms.
