CP 295 - Mechanical Power Transmission CP 295 - Mechanical Power Transmission This course is designed to provide students with a detailed look at mechanical systems common to most industrial automation processes. A combination of lecture-based theory along with a hands-on approach to learning about industrial mechanical systems will be emphasized. Topics covered include basic functions and physical properties of mechanical components and the roles they play in the system such as materials, lubrication requirements, and surface properties. Troubleshooting techniques and strategies to identify, localize, and correct malfunctions, systematic preventative maintenance, and mechanical component safety. Technical documentation such as data sheets and specifications of mechanical elements will also be covered. Course
