DH 121 - Dental Radiography Laboratory I DH 121 - Dental Radiography Laboratory I This laboratory course provides a practical application of knowledge gained in DH 120. Using training manikins, emphasis is placed on the paralleling technique of acquiring dental radiographic images using image receptor positioning devices such as XCP instruments, Snap-a-Ray, and Stabe holders. Image receptor, scanning, film mounting, basic interpretation, and self-evaluation of technique and exposure errors are practiced. Techniques will include digital methods using phosphor storage plates, direct sensor technology, imaging, and the nomad hand-held x-ray unit. Dental film and the panoramic will be introduced but not used for grading. Radiation safety for patients and clinicians will be stressed. The minimum passing grade is “C-“ Course
