GP 140 - Introduction to Geospatial Technology GP 140 - Introduction to Geospatial Technology Introduction to Geospatial Technology covers various principles of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), remote sensing, and surveying with applications to data collection and location-based analysis for field-based sciences (planning, engineering, environmental science, biology, geology). Emphasis is on demonstrating key concepts, software capabilities, and opportunities in the geospatial industry. Students will work with handheld GPS, GIS, and remote sensing software. On-campus fieldwork is required. This is a required course in the GIS Certificate program. Course
