LE 270 - Firearms Instructor Course LE 270 - Firearms Instructor Course The course ID is designed by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services to comply with the mandates of the NYS Municipal Police Training Council. It must be as designed. All students must hold the police instructor designation and have three years of police or peace officer experience. When successfully completed, a student may instruct firearms for police officers, peace officers personnel, and recruits. Firearms are defined for the purpose as revolvers, ACPs, and shotguns. Course
