This course presents the fundamental skills and concepts to build parametric model parts and assemblies and make simple drawings of those parts and assemblies. This course is designed as a process-based training approach emphasizing the processes and procedures necessary to complete a particular task. By utilizing case studies to illustrate these processes, the student learns the necessary commands, options, and menus in the context of completing a design task within SOLIDWORKS. An introduction to the transferability and compatibility of SOLIDWORKS, MASTERCAM, GIBSCAM, and Pro-Engineer software is provided. The course also includes an introduction to 3D printing.
