FORS120 — Forestry Navigation

An introduction to basic forestry navigation techniques. Exercises include basic compass skills, understanding the historical development of maps, reading and using topographic maps, understanding the U.S. public land survey system (PLSS), and an introduction to Global Positioning System. Emphasis will be placed on forestry field measurements and data collection. (Fall Semester) Course Learning
