FT125 — Machine Tools for the Gunsmith

This course covers the theory and practice of using machine tools for basic barrel fitting techniques. Techniques include truing the action, lapping lugs, fitting the barrel for best accuracy, chambering, headspacing, and installing sights and scope mounts. Projects include fabricating jigs and fixtures that are required to perform improvements to accuracy of bolt action rifles. There will also be discussions of safety that are pertinent when barreling any firearm. (Spring Semester) Course Learning
