This introductory course provides a comprehensive foundation in the principles of visual communication, starting with an analysis of key historical movements like Bauhaus and the Swiss Style and their lasting impact on contemporary design. Students will learn to apply core aesthetic principles, including hierarchy, balance, and typography, to create original, visually effective layouts that explore personal and cultural themes. Emphasizing layout methodology and utilizing diverse artistic techniques, students will practice digitizing their work using industry-standard software to build a portfolio.
