SW200 — Introduction to Social Work Practice

This course is designed to prepare students for direct social work practice by introducing social work as a profession. Content includes an examination of goals, guiding philosophies, and basic assumptions of social work practice. Emphasis is on the generalist framework of social work practice. In addition, students will develop the analytical and practical skills of listening, relationship building, assessment, intervention, documentation, and evaluation. (Spring Semester) Course Learning
