ECED 235 — Diversity and Professionalism in Early Childhood Education
Focuses on developing professional behaviors essential for success in the early childhood education field and expanding students' understanding of diversity. Participants will explore the concepts of culture, race, ethnicity, language, gender, and family, and examine how these elements influence identity and early childhood experiences. Students will learn to apply a variety of strategies, activities, resources, and techniques to foster an equitable and inclusive classroom environment. Students will review the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and consider strategies for affirming diversity in early childhood settings.
