FEMA 183 — Public Works Role in Emergency Management
(formerly FEM 183) Examines the details of the public works function in emergency management. Designed to help communities improve public works efforts prior to, during, and after disasters. This course is intended to help build local capacity for public works including planning for disasters, developing practices and procedures, conducting damage assessment, and participating in after-action reviews. This course also includes details of how the function of public works is integrated into the overall strategy for responding to disasters and its relationship to other emergency management functions.
