GISA 101 — Introduction to Geographic Information Systems with ArcGIS
(formerly GIS 101) Introduces the principles of geospatial technologies and the use/application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and data. Develops student understanding of the fundamental concepts and applications of GIS, spatial data, and GIS software packages including Esri's ArcGIS Desktop Suite. Discusses the need for skills in data management, conversion, and compilation using GIS software and provides practice in a computer lab environment. Note: Students taking the course should be proficient with the use of personal computers in a Windows operating environment.
