Study of the major art historical developments and traditions in the United States from pre-colonial times to the present, including the changing nature of American art and identity in the age of globalization. Consideration of major genres and stylistic characteristics with emphasis on the sociocultural contexts in which art was created and received. Prerequisites: None.
