Coordinate frames used in geodesy, photogrammetry, surveying, and mapping. Cartesian, spherical, and ellipsoidal coordinates. Introduction to kinematics, gravity field, and size and shape of earth. Positioning in three dimensions. Introduction to map projections and associated coordinate systems. Theory and application of the plane coordinate systems with emphasis on Arizona. Development of projections from Global Positioning System (GPS) observations.
