ECG101 — Cardiovascular System Anatomy
In this course, will explore the structure and functions of the cardiovascular system. This course covers the anatomical structures of the heart, the composition of blood, the path of the blood through the heart, and the electrical conduction system. Students will learn how these systems act as one to supply vital oxygen, nutrients and hormones to tissues and remove carbon dioxide and metabolic waste products. This course also covers pathophysiologic concepts and interventions for patients with heart and coronary vessel disease and disorders such as coronary artery disease (CAD), angina pectoris, myocardial infarction (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), dysrhythmias, inflammatory processes and valvular heart disease. Prerequisites: ECG100.
