ECG106 — Clinical Practicum

This course serves as the clinical practicum for Electrocardiogram (ECG) Technician in which the students synthesize standard of care and scope of practice through diagnostic technology, patient assessment, patient advocacy, ethical and professional behaviors, critical thinking and decision making while in the healthcare industry setting. Mandatory attendance for all 80 hours is required for successful completion. Prerequisites: 1. ECG105 2. Background check requirements in compliance with the Maricopa County Community College District Supplemental Background Check Policy. 3. Students also must provide a copy of an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card. Students must maintain current fingerprint clearance throughout the externship(s). 4. Complete and submit the Allied Health Student Health and Safety Documentation Checklist, with included documentation. 5. Students are responsible to meet the requirements of the background check, fingerprint clearance card, and health and safety documentation.
