EMC101 — CPR/Basic Cardiac Life Support
Designed to train students in the skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to include mouth-to-mouth, mouth-to-mask, cardiac compression, stabilization of adult, infant, and child victims with airway obstruction, respiratory, and cardiac arrest. Course notes: 1. To receive a course completion card, students in the basic life support (BLS) course must pass both the skills and written exams. 2. In order to continue on in the EMT program, students must pass both the practical skills test and cognitive exam to American Heart Association (AHA) standards. Prerequisites: Admission into the Emergency Medical Technology program. Successful completion of RDG100 or higher or appropriate reading placement into CRE101.
