COMM 101 — Speech Communication

This course is an introduction to the field of communication studies. The course focusses on public speaking and other forms of oral and written communication and will provide students with the skills needed to deliver original speeches and develop an awareness of theories of interpersonal communication. Students will learn how to communicate effectively in oral and written presentations for professional, academic, and personal settings. A significant part of the course focuses on learning the material through class exercises, in a variety of small groups and reflecting on these experiences.
