ED 100 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education ED 100 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education Credit Hour(s): 3 ( 3 , 0 ) This course is intended for students contemplating a career in education. It is designed to provide an overview of early childhood education and the development of children from birth-age 8. Concepts of developmentally appropriate practice, the learning environment, teachers, diverse learners, classroom management, and issue facing all schools will be the focus. In addition, students will be introduced to beginning principles of planning and become familiar with the New York State Learning Standards. Twenty hours of field observation is required.
