ECIV 414 - Steel Design ECIV 414 - Steel Design 3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) This course introduces the fundamental concepts and procedures for the design of structural steel components according to the current AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) standards. Emphasis is placed on the behavior and design of tension members, compression members, beams, and beam-columns. Topics also include bolted and welded connections, member stability, and practical considerations in steel structures.
