EMAT 473 - Materials Characterization & Analysis Laboratory EMAT 473 - Materials Characterization & Analysis Laboratory 1 credit This course will supplement the Materials Characterization & Analysis course. Students will gain hands-on experience with a number of characterization techniques commonly used in metallurgical and materials engineering, including: Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Inductively-coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffractometry. As part of this course, students will present the results of their analyses in the form of a short technical report. Corequisite(s): EMAT 471
