EMET502 — Pyrometallurgy & Thermal Processing

EMET 502 - Pyrometallurgy & Thermal Processing EMET 502 - Pyrometallurgy & Thermal Processing 3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) This course provides an essential introduction to high temperature industrial operations for the processing and refining of metals from ore concentrates. Students will learn about important considerations for fundamental pyrometallurgical processes - covering thermal processing principles, process equipment, and applications. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to perform heat and mass balances and determine process heat requirements, and apply metallurgical thermodynamics to solve complex thermal processing problems.
