EMET535 — Flotation and Liquid/Solid Separations

EMET 535 - Flotation and Liquid/Solid Separations EMET 535 - Flotation and Liquid/Solid Separations 3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) This course details the physical-chemical process of froth flotation, as well as the fundamental principles governing liquid/solid separation. An emphasis is placed on understanding the relationship between the physical properties of the mineral to be recovered and the chemical properties of surfactants to maximize recovery. Students will learn about important considerations for fundamental solid/liquid unit operations and develop strategies for selecting and sizing process equipment.
