EMET595 — Mineral Processing Practicum
EMET 595 - Mineral Processing Practicum EMET 595 - Mineral Processing Practicum 1 credit (Hrs: 1 Lec.) The Mineral Processing Practicum will test student’s knowledge gained from the three courses within the Mineral Processing Certificate program - Comminution and Physical Separations ( EMET 533 ), Flotation and Liquid/Solid Separations ( EMET 535 ), and Process Instrumentation and Control ( EMET 551 ). Multifaceted experiments covering physical separations, solid/liquid separations, and process control strategies are covered during the practicum. Examples of potential experiments include crushing and grinding of mineral ores; beneficiation via froth flotation, magnetic separation, and gravity separation; and sedimentation and filtration. Safety is emphasized and training on all equipment is mandatory.
Prerequisites: EMET533, EMET535
