Topics include the first and second laws of thermodynamics, exergy analysis, thermodynamic cycles, and energy conversion processes. Emphasis is placed on evaluating system efficiency, irreversibilities, and sustainability metrics. Students apply thermodynamic analysis to research problems involving conventional and emerging energy technologies.
