ENRG530 — Advanced Geomechanics
ENRG 530 - Advanced Geomechanics ENRG 530 - Advanced Geomechanics 3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) This course focuses on the application of geomechanics to subsurface energy systems. Topics include in-situ stress and pore pressure characterization, fundamentals of solid mechanics, rock deformation and failure, stress interactions with faults and natural fractures, wellbore stability, hydraulic fracturing, and the impact of reservoir depletion and injection on stress evolution. Students develop the ability to analyze and interpret geomechanical behavior for drilling, completion, and reservoir engineering applications.
