MIN 527 - Geomechanics and Ground Control MIN 527 - Geomechanics and Ground Control 3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) This course is an introduction to geomechanics and ground control in mining. Topics of interest include stress-strain relationships, engineering properties of rocks and rock masses, the behavior of stresses around underground openings, field instrumentation, and basic rock mechanics design considerations for underground and surface mines. Prerequisite(s): Graduate Standing or Consent of Instructor
