MIN595 — Mining Engineering Practicum
MIN 595 - Mining Engineering Practicum MIN 595 - Mining Engineering Practicum This practicum will provide students with abbreviated hands-on applied learning opportunities in the areas of Mine Design, Ventilation, and Geomechanics including: Completing an introduction to modern, three-dimensional modeling and design of mining operations. Performing industry standard rock strength tests and analyze data to be used in the design process. Performing rock bolt “pull tests” in the Underground Mine Education Center to compare rock bolt design strength to actual field measurements. Conducting standard mine ventilation survey measurements in both a controlled laboratory setting and the Underground Mine Education Center. Prerequisite(s): Graduate Standing or Consent of Instructor
