NUCL420 — Nuclear Reactor Theory
NUCL 420 - Nuclear Reactor Theory NUCL 420 - Nuclear Reactor Theory 3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec) This course introduces the fundamental theory governing the behavior and analysis of nuclear reactors. Emphasis is placed on neutron physics, neutron life cycle, reactor criticality, and basic reactor kinetics. Mathematical modeling using differential equations is used extensively to describe neutron balance, diffusion, and time-dependent reactor behavior. Applications to thermal and fast reactors are discussed.
