HIST 103 - World Civilizations III HIST 103 - World Civilizations III 5 Credits This course will provide an introduction to the history of the Modern World from the 19th to the 21st century. The course will emphasize the political,economic, and cultural revolutions that have characterized modern societies, and it will address points of comparison between nations and regions of the world in an era of increasing globalization. Points of contact between cultures and the broader forces that to define those contacts-trade, migration, patterns of disease, imperialism, genocide, and global conflict-will also be discussed. The class will also consider the nature of history and its methods as an academic discipline.
