Students gradually learn the fundamentals of pitch and rhythmic notation and progress form playing by rote to very basic sight-reading. Students now learn to play simple chords in one hand while independently playing the melody in the other. Finally students learn to read and play simple compositions with both hands playing independently. Student Learning
