RC 111 - Practicum I RC 111 - Practicum I 2 Credits The course is designed to introduce the first quarter student to concepts, principles, and skills in the Respiratory Care field. The course consists of teaching the new student how to perform basic patient assessment including an introduction to pulmonary function test studies. Additional topics include the importance of Infection Control practices and the application and use of personal protective devices. The operation and handling of pressurized gas systems is introduced including the application of supplementary oxygen to the patient.
