ESL 10 — Acad ESL for High Beginners
Introduces Academic ESL skills. Using subject matter from selected disciplines and prior knowledge, students engage in paraphrasing and summarizing new information and responding to academic content in formal and informal academic writing assignments. Utilizing all four language skills—reading writing, listening, and speaking—students learn to recognize and apply basic grammatical structures and verb forms, adequate academic content vocabulary, sentence boundaries, and basic mechanics.
