Graduates of the program will be entering a profession that has radically changed from a paper-based health records to a new digitized environment that includes the electronic health record, medication ordering systems, and digital imaging. Health information technicians develop, implement, and manage information and data systems for quality care, reimbursement, research, planning, and evaluation organize and manage health information data ensuring the quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security of the data.
