BIOL127 — Principles of Sports and Exercise Nutrition
This introductory course is designed to assist health and education professionals give the most accurate and current information to physically active individuals to them improve health and performance. This course will use a cross-disciplinary approach integrating principles of biochemistry, anatomy, nutrition, and Exercise physiology. Topics for discussion include the scientific method, energy expenditure, fuel substrate metabolism, specific nutrient needs, supplementation, ergogenic aids, thermoregulation, hydration, and weight control.
