CISS180 — Introduction to Robotics

This hands-on course is designed to introduce students to the multi-disciplinary field of robotics, using state-of-the-art industrial robots. Students will: study the history and development of robots from early automatons to modern-day industrial robots; learn the basics of robotic programming, including the use of teaching pendants, graphical programming and scripting; practice working safely and effectively with and around fixed-location robots; train and program an industry-standard robotic arm to perform simple and complex tasks; collaborate on projects designed to test and enhance their robotics control and programming skills; and work hands-on with a state-of-the-art industrial robot arm.
