This course explores many of the significant ways human habitation has engaged the world at the large scale of cities and geographies. This is an introduction to the history, analysis and design of the urban landscape. Emphasis is placed on understanding the principles, processes and contemporary theories of urban design and the relationship between individual buildings, groups of buildings, and the larger physical and cultural contexts in which they are created and with which they interact.
