This is an introductory course designed to familiarize students with the Laws of New York State that pertain to protecting all animals, both wild and domesticated, against abuse and neglect. A summary of the anti-cruelty laws along with case law, and the ability to recognize, report and assist in investigations including hoarding, animal fighting, animal rescue and handling will be expounded upon. Proper evidence collection and court procedure will also be included. This course will also include a section for animal control and dog control officers; their duties and enforcement of state animal control statutes. Terms all Distance Learning: Yes Lecture: 3
