CRJS275 — History of Criminal Justice Reform

This discussion-based course discusses contemporary attempts to improve and reorganize the criminal justice system. Topics will include reform efforts in policing, the court system, and the correctional system, as well as forensic science, victim services, and community relations. Students will learn the role of public opinion and politics in reform efforts in the United States through case studies and class discussions. Pre-requisite(s): CRJS 101 Introduction to Criminal Justice or CRJS 103 Honors Introduction to Criminal Justice Terms all, Spring Distance Learning: Yes Liberal Arts and Sciences Designation: Social Science Lecture: 3
