EMSP205 — Special Topics for the Paramedics

This course is designed to introduce the paramedic students to special topics in EMS. As the profession and scope of practice of paramedics change, this course will introduce new and important topic areas that be encountered by paramedics in their career. Topics in this course range from provider safety in operational, transport, hazardous materials and rescue situations to expanded roles of the paramedic, such as community paramedicine. The course includes a lab component, which is designed to complement the didactic sessions of the course. C or better to successfully meet program requirements. Open only to matriculated Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic students. Pre-requisite(s): Current NYS EMT Basic Certification Terms all, Spring Distance Learning: No Lecture: 2 Lab: 1
