EXER201 — Exercise Science Professional Experience

This course is the culminating experience (75 hours, 5 hours/week) for students pursuing the Exercise Science degree or the Fitness Specialist certificate. The experience provides students with an opportunity to use the knowledge and skills they obtained in their course work in an off-campus setting, while interacting professionally with clients and site personnel. The sites available to students for the internship experience may include, but are not limited to, clinical (cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy, athletic training), college/university strength and conditioning facilities, community­ based fitness facilities and commercial fitness settings. Strict adherence to a code of conduct and technical skills is required, and failure to do so may result in removal from the experience. Open to matriculated Exercise Science and Fitness Specialist majors only, or by permission of the Department Chairperson. Pre-requisite(s): EXER 200 Fitness Assessment, Evaluation and Program Design Terms all, Spring Distance Learning: No Lecture: 2 Other: 75 hours internship
