HLTH155 — Wilderness and Remote First Aid

This is a course designed for individuals who enjoy outdoor activities, outdoor group leaders, scout leaders and others who may find themselves in a remote emergency situation where professional could be delayed. The course content will prepare students to recognize emergencies, make first aid decisions and provide care in a wilderness or remote setting. Evacuation procedures, extreme first aid skills and pre-trip planning will be discussed. This course is not a replacement for standard first aid, as the skills and information go beyond traditional emergency scenarios. After successful completion of this course, a student will obtain adult CPR/AED and Wilderness and Remote First Aid certification from the American Red Cross.
