MCTS220 — Instrumentation and Process Control

6 credits · 6 hours

This course is a study of process manufacturing systems. It will focus on areas of process control such as batch and continuous, and the associated PLC programming and sensors used in these types of systems. Students will be introduced to advanced PLC programming and the use of function blocks for signal calibration using HART communication devices. Students will also explore different types of industrial furnaces and temperature sensors used for temperature-driven processes. Students will then be guided through the process of building a sophisticated HMI screen that will operate the process they are designing. Pre-requisite(s): MCTS 200 Automation Technology Lab fee will be required Terms pring Distance Learning: No Lecture: 4 Lab: 4
