PHYS143 — Introduction to Meteorology and Climate Change
This introductory course explores the fundamentals of the Earth’s atmosphere, weather, and climate. Topics including atmosphere and its energy transformations, water vapor and precipitation, and wind will explain how weather works and what drives severe weather. Applications of these topics include El Nino and La Nina cycles, climate disruption, and risk management. Laboratory activities involving collecting weather data, forecasting, and long-term analysis are integral to this course.
