CMN 1246 — First Aid for Mining

This course is designed to introduce the student to the correct first aid emergency procedures in a coal mining environment. The class will include recognizing life-threatening conditions and taking effective action to keep the injured or ill person in the best possible condition until medical treatment can be obtained. This course will be taught according to American Red Cross and American Heart Association standards and recommendations. This course may vary from company to company depending on training requirements and may be repeated when necessary to fulfill company training needs, state, and federal requirements. This course may be team taught with industry. One-half to one credit will be awarded each time student successfully completes the course. Total number of credits that may be applied to a degree shall be one credit.
