EPF 1212 — Basic Ops Firefighter Module B

This course introduces students to classroom instruction including topics on search and rescue, installed systems, salvage and overhaul, ventilation, water supply, fire hose, and fire control. This course prepares individuals for the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal (OSFM) Level: Basic Operations Firefighter Examination. To meet OSFM certification standards, practical skills will need to be completed and signed off by the firefighters’ fire chief. Students planning to submit examination requests for the Basic Operations Firefighter Module B exam will be required to meet all the OSFM requirements. Four credits will be awarded each time the student successfully completes the course. The total number of credits that may be applied to a degree shall be 4 credits.
