GNS 1212 — Self-Defense Pistol

This course is an introduction to carrying a pistol for self-defense. Course trains individuals in safe carry techniques, firing and maintenance of a handgun. Topics covered will include the physical, legal and moral hazards associated with the use of a firearm in self-defense and supervised practice to demonstrate the student's ability to use a handgun safely and effectively in self-defense. Student must pass a written test and fire a minimum of 30 rounds with 70% aggregate accuracy on target at ranges of 5, 7, & 10 yards with a B27 silhouette. Course meets the Illinois State Police requirements to receive a concealed carry permit.
